Someone call Canton Fair, the Canton fair is a great trade event of comprehensiveness and specialization. It exhibits over 10,000 categories and 100,000 kinds of Chinese products also with overseas commodities with distinctive features. It will be held at Guangzhou International Conference and Exhibition Centre “广州国际会议展览会” which it is short as “PAZHOU” 琶洲. There is no any foreign business dealing with China and importer never visited this tradeshows. The exhibition will be split into 3 phases as follows; 

1. 1st phase will be organized Consumer Electronics, Electronic and Electrical Products, Computer and Communication Products, Household Electrical Appliances, Lighting Equipment, Bicycles, Motorcycles, Vehicle Spare Parts, Vehicles (Outdoor), Small Machinery, Large Machinery & Equipment, Construction Machinery, Hardware, Tools, Building and Decorative Materials, Sanitary and Bathroom Equipment, Chemical Products

2. 2nd phase will be organized Kitchenware & Tableware, General Ceramics, Household Items, Personal Care Products, Toiletries, Clocks, Watches & Optical Instruments, Toys, Gifts and Premiums, Festival Products, Native Produce, Art Ceramics, Glass Artware, Weaving, Rattan and Iron Arts, Home Decorations, Gardening Products, Stone and Iron Products (Outdoor), Furniture

3. 3rd phase will be organized Men and Women's Clothing, Kids' Wear, Underwear, Sports and Casual Wear, Furs, Leather, Downs & Related Products, Fashion Accessories and Fittings, Home Textiles, Textile Raw Materials & Fabrics, Carpets & Tapestries, Shoes, Office Supplies, Cases and Bags, Sports, Travel and Recreation Products, Medicines and Health Products, Medical Devices, Disposables and Dressings, Food

5 days show in each phase. This year Canton fair will be held on March 15 – 19, 2013. Early fit your health and go.

Guangzhou Tradeshows visiting instruction; 

1. Prior starting you have to have the product knowledge or specialist. Product specification studying is recommended. Trying to seek for nice booths and conversation look professional. Anyway, some booths is good looking but produce the bad batch is much as well. Perhaps, it is a step to make sure they will be provided some professional. For me, I am engineer so I will talk only the booths their sounding have technical specification knowledge and understanding what we need are. Booth product show is just the accessories and decoration. 

2. Please prepare your own name card and do not hope to print it at the fair. Chinese have paid an attention to the title and details over the name card. The name card will be identified your positioning, I suppose this culture same as Japanese. Print it over your expect the number from your own is recommendation. They also have name card services at the fair, but do not asking about quality and price is very expensive as well. 

3. Please preserve your energy on the first day, only 1 – 2 halls per day are enough. Thanks to Guangzhou Metro transportation system, it is very convenience to use the service. Please be checking what’s number of the hall prior fair, take on metro line 8 and off at “PAZHOU” 琶洲 or “XIN GANG DONG” 新港东station depends on going to visit the fair.

4. The last day of tradeshows mostly will have reduced goods for sales out. 

5. Trade shows surveying, you should left a time one day for all brochures reviewing. Because of too much brochure you have get and taken much time to review all. Someone have get 1 – 2 luggage at the shows. 

6. Calling to the match for the first meeting at factory, finding a Chinese driver and go. Telling someone you come here to meet “WAI XIAO” 海外销售that is the person who is in charge of international sales or export. Some will meet “ZONG JING LI” 总经理 English translation is General Manager but he actually is the factory owner or authorized. Bring some souvenirs or gift on your hand and every thing will be smoother. 

When you have dealing with factory, telling them you are in this field of business and seeking for factory to make for order as well as telling about future planning if possible. Perhaps, you need to try for a small order for testing and your customer feed back. And then, Agreement Contract sign this might be in Proforma Invoice or anything. Please be sure both parties must have hard copy and signature not by verbal. Then, fly back to the country and frequency coordinating of your order and fly back when initial order is finished for quality inspection. Asking them what money currency they need is, China Yuan or USD due to some factory need foreign currency transfer for tax privilege or subsidized compensation from government whether USD banknote. Shipping organized should be earlier done for shipment back to your country port or consign shipment anyway. 

P.S. it’s sound like an easy operating but less than 1% the one can be reach to this step.

Chinese public holiday. 

1. Dec 31st – Jan 1st, some will be closed 2 days some factories will only be 1 day off. 

2. 春节 someone call spring festival, some will call Chinese new year festival. This is very important festival in China, most of factories will be weekday off whether 2 weeks. Please check. 

3. 端阳节dragon boat festival is the 5th day of the 5th lunar month every year, some factory will be day off, please check. 

4. May day is May 1st mostly will be 3 days off, please check.

5. 国庆节 National day is every first week of October. Most factories will be whole weekday off.
