Contact each factory or supplier on your hand.

Once you have a list of exporters, you can begin asking questions in order to narrow it down to the factory or supplier who is the right one for you. Some reputable factory or supplier might not give you some information due to they have valuable themselves. In case the factory you contact is produced to some brand name or OEM, ODM so you can rely on their quality and service. If not, some things you will want to ask each exporter to provide you with include

1.   Client references; reputable supplier should be able to provide you with testimonials and references. Once they do, check them!

2.   Request them some standard certification which it is relied on. I have faced one factory give me ISO certification from other factory. Keep be quiet, surely they are sub-contract or third party.

3.    Export or business licensing information; you want to be sure that any company you do business with is properly licensed and in compliance with all applicable trade laws in order to avoid future legal problems which may affect to the business.

4.  Manufacturing and staffing information. Be sure you understand the exporter’s relationship to the manufacturer, i.e. do they manufacture the product themselves, and if not, do they get paid by the manufacturer as well, or do they only work for you? And trying to make sure that you are exclusive only in the country you base on, I had ever faced my supplier send me wrong FORM-E of another factory in the country. I don’t want this regarding occurs at my company.

5.    Manufacturer information regarding the experience in producing your product is very importance. Long standing operation manufacturer is more reputable than established experience one and give you a good indication of the quality of work. In case you contact with established one, try to convince them you will be a good customer give them big or continue order, rock bottom price bargaining must done.

6.      From above, some manufacturer’s experience is even a good one. Because of some has been taken over and then changed the model, product, type or anything else. So you must ensure this manufacturer is manufacturing’s experience for a long time.

7.      The name and location of the factory producing the product. Same or similar product type mostly locate in the same district or industrial zone. Further problem is how to finding industrial zone, trade show or fair can be helping you. Bringing the brochures or leaflets and write down, you will find many factory will be located in the same area.

8.      Chinese Taiwan factory mostly located at Xiamen, Fujian. They will be finding at Zhongshan, Gaungdong as well.

9.      Some confidential information or testimonial cannot be opened by manufacturer or supplier. Perhaps, red banknote with President Mao face can help you, CNY 3000 is enough.

10. Sample, normally manufacturer or supplier will provide you. But China factory is exempt. The sample you must pay for 1 or 2 each, unless you know the owner this is an exempt as well.
